ONE-STOP TAX ADVICE in Flensburg and Harrislee

Flensburg Tax Consultancy, Ina Reese, Specialist Lawyer in Tax Law

Financial accounting, tax returns and annual accounts supported by a specialist tax lawyer who also keeps an eye on the legal aspects of your tax affairs.

We handle day-to-day financial accounting, prepare tax returns and annual accounts, and, as a specialist tax lawyer, assist private individuals, self-employed professionals and businesses in Flensburg, Harrislee and the surrounding region. From monthly VAT returns to annual accounts, we ensure that your tax obligations are managed in a structured, timely and transparent manner.

As both a solicitor and a specialist in tax law, we combine both perspectives: tax planning and legal protection are provided from a single source, without you having to liaise between a tax adviser and a solicitor. This is a significant advantage, particularly when it comes to choosing a legal form, drawing up articles of association and dealing with tax audits.

Financial Accounting

We take care of your day-to-day financial accounting, from recording business transactions and reconciling accounts to submitting monthly or quarterly VAT returns. Based on these figures, we prepare business analysis reports (BWA) which provide you with a reliable overview of turnover, costs and liquidity throughout the year and serve as a basis for decision-making on strategic business directions. This applies to sole traders and self-employed professionals as well as to partnerships and limited companies. You can send us your documents in person, by post or electronically, as agreed; we will arrange the handover with you during our initial consultation.

Tax returns

We prepare tax returns for income tax, corporation tax, VAT and business rates, as well as the standardised and separate assessment of tax bases for partnerships and capital gains tax on investment income. For private individuals, we handle the annual income tax return; for businesses, we take care of the full company tax return, including meeting the relevant deadlines set by the tax office. We check the relevant details for completeness and plausibility before the return is submitted, and are available to act as your point of contact should the tax office have any queries.

Annual accounts

We prepare your annual accounts – the balance sheet and profit and loss account for companies required to prepare financial statements, as well as the cash-based income statement for self-employed professionals and small business owners. For limited companies such as GmbHs or UGs, we can also, on request, handle the legally required disclosure or filing of the annual accounts with the electronic Federal Gazette. In this way, we ensure that the deadlines under commercial and tax law are met and that you can rely on an accurate, transparently documented representation of your financial year.

Ongoing tax advice & tax audits

Beyond simply filing tax returns, we are available to you throughout the year as your point of contact for day-to-day tax matters, such as investment decisions, choosing a legal form or drafting articles of association (find out more on our company law page). If the tax office announces a tax audit, we will prepare the requested documents, guide you through the entire audit process and liaise directly with the auditor to ensure that any queries are resolved promptly and appropriately.

Tax and legal advice from a single source

Tax and legal issues can rarely be clearly separated; for example, when setting up a business, where the legal form and tax implications must be considered together; during restructuring; or when a tax audit gives rise to criminal tax law implications. As Ina Reese is both a specialist solicitor in tax law and a solicitor with specialist accreditation in tax law, we examine such matters from both perspectives and, where necessary, take on legal representation directly, for example in company law or in tax law and criminal tax law, without you having to engage an external law firm.

Process: From the initial assessment to ongoing support

We begin with an initial consultation lasting around 15 minutes, during which we assess your situation and your advisory needs, and clarify which documents are required to get started. It is also possible to take over an ongoing client account from another tax consultancy; we will coordinate the handover of the previous year’s data with you in a structured manner. Building on this, we will develop an ongoing support package tailored to your business or personal circumstances, ranging from monthly bookkeeping to your annual tax return.
Whether it’s day-to-day financial accounting, annual accounts or a single tax return, we handle your tax affairs in a structured manner and with the necessary legal insight.

FAQ: Tax Advice in Flensburg

Do you also offer digital collaboration?

Yes. You can send us documents in person, by post or electronically, subject to prior arrangement. For many day-to-day tasks, such as sending accounting documents or exchanging information in response to queries, digital communication is perfectly feasible. During our initial consultation, we’ll work with you to determine which method is most practical for you and tailor our collaboration to your way of working, rather than imposing a rigid procedure on you.

What do I need for the initial consultation?

That depends on your specific needs. For a tax return, this usually involves the relevant supporting documents for the year in question; for ongoing support with your business, it includes previous tax assessment notices, bank statements or, in the case of a start-up, initial considerations regarding the planned legal form. A complete list of documents is not necessary for the initial consultation: we will work through together what is actually required to get started.

Do you also take on ongoing cases from other tax consultancy firms?

Yes, it is generally possible to change your tax adviser. It is essential that the existing accounting and tax records are handed over in an orderly manner so that there are no gaps in relation to ongoing deadlines, advance tax returns or annual accounts that are already in progress. We will discuss with you which documents and powers of attorney are required for the handover and ensure that ongoing processes can be continued seamlessly.

Who are your tax advisory services suitable for?

We provide support to private individuals as well as freelancers, sole traders and partnerships and limited companies such as GmbHs or UGs in Flensburg, Harrislee and the surrounding region. The scope of our services depends on your individual circumstances: from individual income tax returns and day-to-day financial accounting through to comprehensive tax support for a business, including annual accounts and tax audits.

What happens during a tax audit?

If the tax office announces a tax audit, we will prepare the requested documents and guide you through the entire process, including direct communication with the auditor. Should any issues relating to criminal tax law arise during the course of the audit, we can, upon request, also take on your legal representation directly – thanks to Ina Reese’s dual qualification as a specialist solicitor in tax law – without the need to engage an external law firm.

How is the fee for tax advice calculated?

The fee is determined in accordance with the Tax Advisers’ Remuneration Regulations (StBVV) and the specific scope of the work, for example, whether it involves a single tax return or ongoing monthly support. During the initial consultation, which lasts around 15 minutes, we will discuss your requirements and the likely scope of the work, so that you have a realistic estimate before you engage our services.
